::INFO ON SP::
Well it all started in the 1980's, when the band first started performing professional gigs. The band only consisted of Billy Corgan playing bass and doing vocals, and James Iha playing guitar. The band played with a drum machine for the most part. Then one time at outside of a club Billy met D'arcy and got into an argument about how good the last band was that had just played. Billy said they stunk and D'arcy was saying just the opposite. Then D'arcy mentioned that she played bass. Billy then stopped and asked her to play in the band. Know the only thing they were missing was a drummer. You see the band was offered a very good gig. The only problem was that they had to get a drummer instead of the machine for that gig. So they found Jimmy, a man not mixing well with the look of the pumpkins but was an excellent drummer so he was in. The band was asked by a recor company after they had played the opening for Jane's Addiction. Then soon released Gish. It was released on 1991. It sold early on and sold a million copies worldwide. Then during the band's first tou things started getting rough. The lead singer Billy became depressed. And believed that all his music was bad and talent stunk. Mixed with the fact that james and D'arcy had broken off their relationship and started fighting all the time. The tour still did nicely, then after 2 years of touring the band started work on their second album. During this Billy got over his deppresion and let anger write most of the songs on Siamese Dream. In this cd most of the gitauris played by Billy beacuse, the arguing of James and D'arcy left them unconcitrated. The album was huge! This one sold millions of copies as well. The band then toured again. This time all shows around the world were sold out! This brought great succes to the band. Then Billy married Chris his girlfriend in 1993 till about 1996 when they got divorced. Then in 1995 the band started recording again. Only on this album The band recorded too many songs for the album. They resolved thias by creating Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness a double cd. People harrassed Billy asbout this stupid and unheard of idea for such a new talent. But to their amazement this cd sold more than any other one of their cds! They then reumed touring. On the tour Jimmy and the keyboard tourist wanted to do some drugs. The only problem is that one of them would never come out of it alive. Jimmy and John Melvoin did a lethal strain of heroin in their New York hotel room. Jimmy was fired and john died. Not to long after his wife sued the band. Then after touring the band settled in to do another album. This album was extremely vital because this album would be nothing like anything the band had done before. They met many problems in the creation of this album but they succeded by releasing Adore in 1998, a project that lasted them a whopping year to create. Billy that sales would sky rocket, instead they sank. The public didn't like this sudden change in the band. Well soon after that they toured once again. But during this tour D'arcy left. And Jimmy came back. Although D'arcy was replaced with Mellisa Auf Der Maur the band still made out o.k. with the tour. The band got together to then create the cd Machina. Soon after like they always did, they toured. They soon then returned to recording machin 2. They did not release it widely, but instead gave them to friends to distribute over the internet. The last part was in 2001 when Rotten Apples was released. It was known for that tittle but really it was The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits.

::DEDICATION::
This site is dedicated and mostly about my undiputed favorite band ever. The Smashing Pumpkins! They are influencial to me for the sole purpose that their music was a mixture i couldn't help but love. Think of it indey-rock-psycadelia-punk-r&b! They had a tune during the Gish - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness Eras that i loved. Then they raised the bar with Adore and finally machina, machina 2, and The Aeroplane Flies High Collection. The last few albums showed the talent of this band. It showed how a band created in the late 80's can reinvent themselves and still do good during the 90's and up to the new millenium. That my friends is a band. And even know with Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin in the band Zwan, which boils the smashing pumpkins into the core essence of the the band and uses that perfect part to make this fully different and at the same time familliar band. Although The Virgins thing didn't work out at least there's some star child that still records.
